​The National Honor Society, or NHS, is a nationwide organization in the United States and consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: service, leadership, scholarship and character. The NHS requires some sort of service to the community, school, or other organizations.

The object of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in pupils of St. Elizabeth High School.​

The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, and to promote leadership

​I pledge myself to uphold the highest purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school; And will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
