The St. Elizabeth R-IV School District proudly announces that AJ Struemph and Sienna Heckemeyer were selected as finalists in the Three Rivers Electric Cooperative Youth Tour essay contest.
Struemph was selected as a finalist, and Heckemeyer won an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in June. Struemph also received $200 for her efforts.
Heckemeyer will be going on a White House tour, meeting their representatives, visiting museums and monuments, going on a boat with four other states' delegates, and going to a Washington Nationals game during her time in D.C.
This year's writing prompt was, "It's 2024; from your perspective as a junior in high school, what do you believe America's greatest challenge(s) will be in the next ten years?
