It took the Hornets awhile to wake up in the first quarter, but they got their act together and tied up the ballgame at halftime, 37-37 vs the Stoutland Tigers.
The Lady Hornets come alive in the second half. The Lady Hornets used a 16-7 scoring margin in the third quarter to pull ahead. They defeat the Lady Bulldogs, 60-43. They will play the Osage-Belle winner on Thursday, Jan. 18th, at 7:00 pm.
The Lady Hornets open up the first round of the Osage Tournamet. They are taking on the Springfield-Central high school. We are off to a slow start, but hold a 27-26 lead at halftime.
In a continuation game after last evenings snow, the JV Hornets finish with Vienna. It was the Eagles getting the win, 67-36.
The Blood Drive for today has been canceled. We are working with the Red Cross on rescheduling for a later date. More information will be announced once we have a new date set.
The JV and Varsity Hornets play in the first round of the Iberia tournament tonight. JV at 6:00 vs Vienna, Varsity at 7:15 vs Stoutland. The games will not be streamed, but you can listen to the radio station 97.9.
Due to some teams not wanting to travel in these extreme temps, the Osage tournament has been postponed until Wednesday. The Lady Hornets will play at 4pm, Jan. 17.
Some of our archers shot their first tournament at Loose Creek today. Harper Kemna was able to sign the line for shooting a 50 (perfect round). Duncan McDonnell qualified Tier 2 State with a 279. Abram Wankum qualified Tier 3 State with a 271. Claire Gibson qualified Tier 3 State with a 270. Way to start off the season!
The Lady Hornets had a better second half than the first. The defeat the Vienna Lady Eagles, 46-30!
The Lady Hornets came out firing and led 14-2 after the first quarter. Things got as cold as the weather outside in the second quarter, as the Lady Hornets only scored 2 points. They hold a slight lead at half over the Lady Eagles of Vienna, 16-12.
It may be freezing outside, but hopefully the Lady Hornets can heat up against the Vienna Lady Eagles! Go Lady Hornets!

The Lady Hornets took it on the chin tonight. The Strafford Lady Indians beat the Lady Hornets, 72-34.
Congratulations to New Bloomfield for winning the St. E Scholar Bowl Invitational. Our St. E "A" team finished second by falling to the Wildcats, 160-150.
Also, Congrats to Sam Luetkemeyer for making the all tournament team.

The JV Lady Indians were just too much for the JV Lady Hornets. The Lady Indians win the 1/2 game, 28-7.
Tonight is our home academic bowl even. We are hosting New Bloomfield, Iberia A and B teams, Chamios, and Eugene A and B teams we are also pleased to have former members of the 2022 State Champion team to be our moderators. Welcome back Lane Hodge, Andrew Lindenbusch, Jace Kesel, and Trey Struemph.
