**SOORTS UPDATE** The rain wins this battle. The Baseball and Softball games at Vienna have been cancelled for tonight. Tha Softball game will be played Wed. night at Vienna, 5:00. The Baseball game will play at 12:15 and 2:30 on Sat with JV to follow the last game.

This week's grades 3-6 AR night will move to Tuesday, the 22nd instead of Wednesday, the 23rd. Pick up time is 4:15. Thank you!

**WEEKLY SPORTS UPDATE** Another busy week for the Hornets/Lady Hornets. Please look at the attached schedule.

If you purchased any mum coupons from the Student Council & NHS Mum sale, Trinklein is extending the deadline to pick up mums until Saturday 10/3 due to the heat. If you would like to purchase a coupon, it's not too late! Contact Becky Otto, Jessica Wieberg, or any StuCo or NHS member to purchase!

Score was 47-47 in the final seconds of the game. Prairie Home got possession and made a shot. JH Hornets ran out of time to get a shot in. They lose to Prairie Home, 49-47.

JH Lady Hornets get the win against Prairie Home, 34-25.

Home Game Reminders for basketball: Students grades 5 and under need to sit with parents/family at the game. We are wanting gym hallway to be for concession stand and restroom use only. We also have 50/50 raffle set up in hallway so it gets crowded. Gym entrances need to be as clear as possible for traffic flow. Stage is for managers of that specific team playing only. If your student is a manager, but not playing at that time they need to avoid the stage. There should be no one running or hanging near stage due to managers working, admin and nurse, and those working the clock and game table. There should be no students in the cafeteria or outside on playground unattended during a game. Thank you for helping with our home games and the safety of those in attendance!

Due to rain and wet field conditions, tonight's softball game has been cancelled. We will provide details on a rescheduled senior night when we have that info available.

**SPORTS TODAY** *SB host New Bloomfield. Varsity only, 5 pm. It's also SENIOR NIGHT...the ceremony will be before the game. *JHB hosts Prairie Home. A girls and A boys only. Start time is 5:30 pm.

JH "B" Hornets fall to Bland, 21-10.

JH "B" Lady Hornets couldn't push past Bland. They lose, 16-9.

It was a nail biter end to the JH Lady Hornets game against Bland. We weren't able to get a final shot and lose, 30-28.

Preschool is working really hard on learning letters of their name!

Lots of good books this week! We even have some 2nd graders creating their own "I Survived" graphic novel!

Seeing if our 8th graders remember the keyboard of a computer!

We always love hearing kids say math is fun! 1st graders were practicing doubles and addition with clipboards, dry erase markers, and a loud chant for the person in the middle of the circle trying to solve the math problems! Even Mrs. Musick ended up in the middle of the circle solving math problems and racing the timer!

Please join our National Honor Society in raising money and bringing awareness to Heart Health. This fall NHS will be selling t-shirts in order to raise funds to donate to a local community member who has recently had a major heart surgery. All proceeds will go directly to the family of Krista Kesel. Shirts are $15 and need to be ordered by September 23rd. Our fundraiser softball game will be hosted on October 6th against Eugene.
