
The fall softball Cancer Awareness game will be held on September 21. This years proceeds will go towards two local men battling cancer, Trevor Burrows and Mike Blomberg. The winning class for scanning the most BoxTops last year was this year's Sixth Graders! Thank you to all who scanned receipts for Box Tops for our school last year; we earned $138.60! This money is used for extra classroom materials and activities for our students. Downloading the app is a fairly quick process and taking a picture of your receipts with the app, before you even leave the store if you wish, is a simple habit to get into! JV Lady Hornets win 10-0 in 3 innings over the Lady Jays. Great game girls!




The JH Lady Hornets jump out to a 5-0 lead after the 1st inning.




Going into the bottom of the 7th inning with the Lady Jay leading 2-1. Chloe starts the Lady Hornets off with a walk. Riley tries moving Chloe around with some bunt work and working the pitcher hard which allows Chloe to advance to 2nd base on a wild pitch. Sarah comes in the pitch run for Chloe. Riley hits a pop fly between CF and RF and it drops. Runners on the corners. Lauren come in to pitch run for Riley. Wild pitch allows Sarah to score, all tied up 2-2. Olivia drives in the winning run. Lady Hornets gets the BIG 3-2 WIN over the Lady Jays.





The Lady Jays tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the 5th inning. Let's get the bats going Lady Hornets.

In Battle of the Books, students listen to and read the 2023-2024 Truman and Gateway-nominated books. This leads up to a Battle of the Books competition hosted in January in which members will compete as a team. Members can also compete in the bookmark and book trailer contests for the 2024-2025 nominees from March to May. This Club is open to all Junior High and High School students.

JV Lady Hornets take the field. The battery in this game is Chloe Oligschlaeger pitching and Reagan Wobbe catching. The Pilot Grove JV Lady Tigers threaten in their half of the first, but come up empty. The JV Lady Hornets score 3 in their half of the first. They lead 3-0, after one complete.





The Hornet bats come to life tonight as they defeat Pilot Grove 11-1 in the season opener in 5 innings. Congrats men.









That's a winner! The Lady Hornets defeat the Pilot Grove Lady Tigers, 15-1. Charli Duemmel hit her 2nd career home run tonight!!










Lady Hornets push 7 more runs across the plate in the bottom of the third. They now lead 13-1, after three innings.






The Lady Tiger strike first with one run on the top of the first. They led off the 2nd inning with a triple just off Dani Heckemeyer's glove. Vanessa Heckemeyer struck out the next 3 batters to leave the Lady Tiger stranded. The Lady Hornets bats woke up, and they plated 6 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. The Lady Hornets now lead 6-1.







After a RBI base hit by Gavin Williams, the Hornets take a 1-0 lead in the season opener for the baseball boys.
